Owls Home Learning

Autumn 2020

Hello there.

If you are reading this, then it most likely means that you or someone in your household has been asked to stay at home and self-isolate for a while. I am looking forward to having you back in Owls where we are all busy beavering away. In the meantime, as you are stuck at home, I have sorted out a few activities to keep you busy and out of mischief!

See how many of the activities you can complete. Keep your writing, take photos and keep a record of your daily reading. When you return to school, bring all your work with you and we can take a good look at it together and then add it to your school books.

Remember, there are still lots of Dojos and the Head Teacher’s Award up for grabs, whether you are in school or at home. Go on, have a go!

Reading

Read every day! You can read anything you like – it doesn’t have to be a school book. If you can’t find anything to read go to the Oxford Owl website where you will find lots of books you can read online.

Mum or Dad will have to sign up but it is free and they may already have an account.

Writing

Do some writing! You could write about anything you like but if you are stuck for ideas have a look at the Pobble 365 website. There is a new weird and wonderful picture every day. You can scroll through the days to choose a picture that inspires you. There are lots of writing ideas included with every picture or you can just let your imagination run wild! Think about what makes writing MARVELLOUS and write for joy, to please and impress.

Maths

As in school, have a go at the White Rose Maths work which, this half term, is on place value. On the Home Learning page, go to your school year and scroll through the weeks to find where you are at. (Unfortunately, their weeks don’t tally with ours). Watch the video and pause it when you need to do some thinking and writing.

Go, you can do it!

Added Dojo points for practising your times tables too.
